We're opening our doors and we couldn't be more excited. Laundry Day is a new kind of laundromat for Melbourne — modern, friendly, and designed to make laundry genuinely easy. Whether you've been using laundromats for years or this is your first time, here's what to expect.

What Is Laundry Day?

Laundry Day is a self-service laundromat built for how people actually do laundry today. We know the old stereotype — dingy rooms, broken machines, pockets full of coins. We set out to change every part of that. Our laundromats are clean, bright spaces with brand new commercial machines, card payment, free detergent with every wash, and zero card fees. Walk in, choose your machine, tap to pay, done.

And yes, we have a mascot. Her name is Lila, and you'll spot her around our stores. She's the friendly face of Laundry Day — because doing your washing should feel normal, even pleasant, rather than something you dread.

What Makes Us Different

Brand new machines. Every washer and dryer in our stores is new. That means reliable performance, efficient cycles, and better cleaning results. No crossing your fingers hoping the machine actually works when you press start. Our machines are commercial grade — they clean more thoroughly and spin faster than anything you'll find at home.

Card payment on every machine. We don't do coins. Tap your card or phone and the cycle starts. It's 2026 — nobody should have to hunt for gold coins to do their washing.

Free detergent. Automatically dispensed with every wash. No need to bring your own or measure it out. The right amount for each load, every time.

Zero card fees. The price you see is the price you pay. No surcharges. If a wash costs $8, you pay $8.

Clean, bright spaces. Good lighting, clean floors, well-maintained facilities. If the store doesn't look clean, you're not going to trust it to clean your clothes. We take that seriously.

Our Three Melbourne Locations

Brunswick East. In the heart of Melbourne's inner north, perfectly positioned for apartment dwellers, share houses, students, and young professionals.

St Albans. Serving Melbourne's western suburbs with the same modern facilities. Whether you're a family managing big loads or a household looking for a more efficient weekly wash.

Maribyrnong. Between the inner west and the growing communities along the Maribyrnong River. Convenient, easy to access, with the full range of machine sizes.

What to Expect on Your First Visit

Step 1: Bring your laundry. Pack your dirty clothes, towels, or sheets into a bag. You don't need detergent — it's included. Sort items at home into separate bags if they need different wash settings.

Step 2: Choose your machine. We have three washer sizes:

• 14KG washers — Perfect for a regular weekly load.
• 18KG washers — Great for larger loads, family washing, or multiple sets of sheets.
• 27KG washers — Ideal for doonas, quilts, curtains, and heavy blankets.

For drying, our 18KG dryers handle everything from everyday clothes to heavy bedding.

Step 3: Load and pay. Load your items, close the door, and tap your card or phone. Detergent is dispensed automatically.

Step 4: Wait or come back. A wash takes around 30 to 45 minutes. Wait in store, or grab a coffee and come back. Transfer to a dryer (another 30 to 45 minutes) and you're done. The whole process takes about 60 to 90 minutes.

Our stores are open early and close late, giving you flexibility to fit a visit into your schedule. Whether you prefer early morning or late evening, there's a time that works. Check our website or signage at each location for exact hours.
